Role Summary

Summit Technical is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist to manage the day-to-day procurement, inventory management, logistics coordination, and operational support of our critical facility materials. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager (OM), you will be an essential on-site presence responsible for the management, security, efficiency, and maintenance of the facility's supply chain network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory & Lifecycle Management: Manage warehouse optimization and material tracking configurations while overseeing the procurement-to-disposal lifecycle for all onsite assets, raw materials, and spare parts.
  • Vendor Management & Support: Maintain supplier communication networks (EDI), administer vendor accounts, and provide daily support to quickly resolve procurement and supply chain disruptions.
  • Systems & Process Optimization: Configure warehouse management software (WMS) and fleet telematics, while coordinating routine inventory audits, supplier evaluations, and lead-time metrics with leadership.
  • Reporting, Training & Safety: Deliver routine supply chain status reports, train facility personnel on logistics tracking equipment, and safely utilize job-specific personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required Qualifications

  • Experience & Operational Resilience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a supply chain or logistics professional with a strong procurement background; proven ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and high-pressure conditions.
  • Technical Depth & Systems: Thorough knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP, Oracle), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), advanced Excel data modeling, and inventory control frameworks.
  • Logistics & Transit Support: Proven experience with freight forwarding, material handling equipment protocols, and comprehensive troubleshooting of supply chain and transit disruptions.
  • Professionalism & Credentials: Active CSCP or CPIM certification (or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire) paired with exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills to interface with senior management and international vendors.
  • Physical Resilience: Physically fit and able to work independently, including navigating vast warehouse floors and climbing stairs while carrying up to 50 pounds of stock or equipment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Education & Military Background: BS or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, paired with a prior US Military background in a Logistics or Quartermaster Military Occupation Specialty (MOS).
  • Enterprise Sourcing & Network Leadership: Experience serving as a lead procurement administrator on enterprise-level supply networks, with deep expertise in global sourcing, cold-chain logistics, and multi-site distribution.
  • Logistics Technology & Hardware: Thorough operational knowledge of RFID tracking systems combined with the capability to perform limited maintenance on automated scanning hardware.
  • Continuous Improvement & Security Credentials: Active Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean manufacturing certifications, alongside baseline supply chain security certifications (including C-TPAT familiarity).
