Generator Technician
Role Summary

Duties
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and comprehensive repairs on generators and related power systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, and hands-on troubleshooting techniques.
- Repair diesel engines, mechanical components, and electrical systems with precision and efficiency.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and mechanical knowledge to complete repairs accurately.
- Conduct small engine maintenance, heavy lifting tasks, and manual handling of heavy equipment safely.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems on power generation systems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed service records, update maintenance logs, and document repair procedures thoroughly.
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support for generator sales and customer inquiries.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance activities and equipment handling.
- Assist in equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing operational support for clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic specializing in generators or heavy equipment repair.
- Dealership experience or automotive repair background is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems repair.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines, small engines, and power generation systems such as Caterpillar or similar brands.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and electrical work techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge of engine repair, equipment troubleshooting, and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of electrical work standards and safety regulations applicable to generator maintenance.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
